Watch: Gareth Edwards Talks Getting 'Godzilla,' Plus Soundtrack Details & New Poster

Godzilla

With “Godzilla” stomping into cinemas in just over a month, Legendary Pictures and Warner Bros. are taking a unique approach when it comes to marketing the film — not only are they selling the monster, they are putting director Gareth Edwards right up front as part of the campaign. A series of featurettes continue to be unveiled and, with Edwards highlighting various aspects of his first blockbuster outing, the latest finds him sharing how he got the job in the first place.

After his low budget first feature “Monsters” made waves, Edwards explains he had a lot of meetings in Hollywood, but it was the one at Legendary that stood out. Meanwhile, other goodies from the movie have dropped, including a new black-and-white poster via Entertainment Weekly that’s fairly striking. Lastly, Scified has dug up the tracklisting for the soundtrack, and we kind of totally forgot Alexandre Desplat did the score. You can check that out below, though if you’re wary of song titles possibly giving away spoilers, you might want to say away.

“Godzilla” emerges on May 16th.
