Watch: Get High With The Trailer For 'Jodorowsky's Dune'

Jodorowsky's Dune

“….an unalloyed pleasure of a documentary,” our Jessica Kiang called Frank Pavitch‘s “Jodorowsky’s Dune” in her recent review out of the Goteborg Film Festival and she’s right on point. The look back at the so-called “greatest film never made” is a remarkable journey into a restless creative spirit who went all-in on what would’ve been the most unique sci-fi movie anyone had ever seen… only for it to fizzle out.

At some point in the ’70s, Alejandro Jodorowsky managed to convince someone to let him direct “Dune,” and it soon snowballed into an amalgamation of talent that was remarkable. Indeed, the world was on the precipice of a project that would’ve seen the director’s distinct sensibility channeled through Mick Jagger, Orson Welles, Davie Carradine, H.R. Giger, Pink Floyd, Salvador Dali and more, all of whom signed up to lend their talents. And it’s hard not to imagine that Jodorowsky’s goal of giving audiences the cinematic equivalent of an LSD high would have been realized.

Alas, it never came together, but this entertaining-as-hell documentary tells the story. Watch the trailer below, and be sure to track this down when it opens on March 21st.
