Watch: Go Out On The Edge With 5 New Clips From Robert Zemeckis' 'The Walk' Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt

The WalkThe big knock right now against "The Walk" is that there’s already a great documentary out there about the true story, James Marsh‘s Oscar-winning documentary "Man On Wire." And that film isn’t just a great chronicle of the feat, but it is powered by the one-of-a- kind personality of Philippe Petit and it contains emotionally moving interviews with those who were involved in the grand scheme to stretch a line between the Twin Towers. There is an overall sense of magic and wonder at creating a fantastic moment – for instance, where even one of the cops who arrests Petit following his high wire walk is awestruck by what he saw. So, can Robert Zemeckis use IMAX and 3D to put his own powerful spin on the story?

The answer will arrive soon with "The Walk" premiering tomorrow at the New York Film Festival. In advance of that, five clips are here to show Joseph Gordon-Levitt‘s French accent, as his version of Petit aspires to walk in the clouds. After that you can check out a TV spot, a fresh featurette, and new images.

"The Walk" opens exclusively on IMAX on September 30th, and nationwide on October 9th. Watch below.
