This weekend, "The Expendables 3" hits theaters. Maybe you saw it already, thanks to it being leaked online. Or maybe you didn’t. Or maybe you, ahem, "didn’t." At any rate, now is a good time to go back to the halcyon days of 2010 with "The Expendables."
Screen Junkies has put together an Honest Trailer for the first installment of the "old guys kicking ass"-centric franchise, and it’s pretty spot on stuff as usual. While the concept of ‘The Expendables’ was to bring an ’80s action flick to cinemas, with all the tough guys you remember from that decade, all the lousy aspects of the genre are present in full force: bad one liners, incomprehensible plotting and women as window dressing. Additionally, despite all the pectoral-ed pensioners shown on the film’s promotional poster, some of those guys barely got screen time in the film.
