Quentin Dupieux earned accolades and praise for his decidedly weird "Rubber" a couple of years back, a bizarre tale about a serial killer that also happens to be a tire. The undoubtedly original film earned the director a new base of fans, as well as encouraging him to be even weirder his next time out. The result is "Wrong" and as the first trailer bears out, it is as odd as you think.
Starring an eclectic cast includes William Fichtner, Steve Little, Alexis Dziena and more, the story centers around a man who is looking for his lost dog and along the way comes across a nympho pizza delivery girl, a jogging neighbor and a mysterious righter of wrongs. So yeah, your standard Dupieux flick. And as this new international trailer bears out, it's going to be strange, trippy journey, but is it worth it? Our man in Sundance didn't think so saying that "Dupieux doesn't lack for inventiveness and panache; what he lacks is a point-of-view or point to make" adding that the director proves himself to be a "half-hit wonder." Ouch.
Take it for what it's worth, but "Wrong" is still without stateside distribution. But it does continue on the festival circuit playing the Fantasia Film Festival this month. Watch the new trailer below. [Vlicious!]
