Watch: Jack Torrance, Dr. Strangelove & More In Epic Supercut Compilation Of Stanley Kubrick's Films

Stanley KubrickRegarding Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, the brilliant writer James Agee once said “You won’t hear it nicely. If it hurts you, be glad of it. As near as you will ever get, you are inside the music; not only inside it, you are it; your body is no longer your shape and substance, it is the shape and substance of the music.” Those words apply to the remarkable Stanley Kubrick video tribute by somersetVII, featuring an amalgam of perfectly-timed clips from each of the director’s films.

The video features indelible characters from Kubrick’s oeuvre, each in their own brief spotlight, to the tune of the aforementioned Seventh Symphony. Keir Dullea’s haunting face from “2001: A Space Odyssey” is placed between shots of James Mason’s prowling Humbert Humbert in “Lolita.” Jack Nicholson’s unparalleled turn as Jack Torrance in “The Shining” pops up several times, as do the titillating couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman from “Eyes Wide Shut.”

Is your favorite Kubrick film the same as mine, and you love “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb?” Or do you love the brutality of “Paths of Glory” or “Full Metal Jacket?” Let us know in the comments below
