James Bond has been a cinematic icon for a half century. But more than ever, the current landscape has provided the character a launching pad to connect with more viewers and rake in the more cash (“Skyfall” took in a cool billion in 2012, making it the most successful 007 film in franchise history). Over the course of three outings, Daniel Craig’s iteration of the superspy has been much more moody and far less campy—007’s gadgets have popped up here and there, but never quite like the Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan vehicles. And with the help of Sam Mendes, Bond became the spy of the 21st century (Jason Bourne gave him a run for the money in the early aughts). And now we are only a couple short weeks away from the release of the Mendes/Craig follow up, “Spectre.”

With that in mind, a new supercut, “The Immortal 007,” is taking a look at the evolution of Britain’s finest. Edited together by Joris Faucon Grimaud, “The Immortal 007” is a delightful romp back through the years, cutting together the necessary car chase, the Bond/Bond villain showdown, the sex, and featuring each of the Bonds: Sean Connery, Moore, Timothy Dalton, Brosnan, and Craig (George Lazenby and “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” are hard to spot). If for nothing else, the opening, cut together from all the Bonds, is fantastic.
