Watch: James Franco-Directed, Lindsay Lohan-Featuring Video For R.E.M.'s "Blue"

nullSo remember this summer when it was reported that James Franco was collaborating with Lindsay Lohan on some vaguely described "video/art" project? Well, it looks like we now have the fruits of their labors, and it's certainly unexpected.

Franco has directed a video for R.E.M.'s "Blue" that is from the now-defunct band's 2011 album Collapse Into Now. Why it's dropping now we have no idea. But the result is perfectly Franco-esque, featuring a lot of woozy shots of Los Angeles, Franco in a helicopter, Terry Richardson shooting Lohan and some other stuff. What it all means, we have no idea or why Franco chose such a turgid song is equally baffling. Though perhaps Michael Stipe and guest vocalist Patti Smith's musings are supposed to add some depth and weight to this.
