Science is going to be cool again, at least for a moment, thanks to "The Martian." While there will surely be super-dorks ready to pick apart the Neil deGrasse Tyson approved movie, the sci-fi flick does base itself around (as much as possible) using real-life solutions to solve the problems Matt Damon‘s astronaut Mark Watney faces alone on Mars. And a new clip is here to highlight how everyone plans to get him back home.
Jeff Daniels, in full "The Newsroom" mode, plays the irritatingly pragmatic head of NASA, who oversees the various people scrambling to put a plan together to rescue the stranded astronaut. A new promo shows the Earth rallying around Watney (though the movie never really does that), while a Cinemax sit down with Ridley Scott and the cast offers further insight (but warning: it’s kinda spoilery right from the start).
"The Martian" opens on October 2nd. Watch below.
