John Stamos is a lot of things to a lot of people: Uncle Jesse, drummer for the casino circuit version of the Beach Boys, Dr. Tony Gates and a song-and-dance man on Broadway. But a fan of Duluth, Minnesota slow-core giants of sadness Low? Who knew?
“I’m actually good friends with their producer Matt Beckley,” Stamos told EW, “and he had played me some of the record while they were making it. When it came time for them to cast the video, they asked if I’d like to be involved. I liked the concept. The new record is on all the time at my place.” And thus, the marriage of Stamos, Low and the video for their new single “Try To Sleep” from their new disc “C’Mon” was made. The vid is pretty nice, with Stamos fashioning his good looks into old movie star charm and a tragic ending befitting the music of Low. And the song is pretty nice too — it’s been a while since we’ve listened to the band, but we definitely dig it.
Check out the Stamos charm after the jump; the album is in stores now.
