Watch: John Travolta Is On The Warpath In Trailer For 'I Am Wrath'

I Am WrathA couple years back, an actor who doesn’t always get much respect popped up in what looked like a low-rent thriller, only to have that movie turn out to be awesome. The star was Keanu Reeves, and the action vehicle was "John Wick." Can "I Am Wrath" do the same for John Travolta? Judging by this first trailer, it’s not likely.

Directed by Chuck Russell ("The Mask," "Eraser," "The Scorpion King"), and co-starring Christopher Meloni, Sam Trammell, Amanda Schull, Asante Jones, Luis Da Silva Jr., Paul Sloan, Patrick St. Esprit and Rebecca De Mornay, the story follows an ordinary man who goes on the warpath after his wife is brutally murdered and the system fails to bring the culprits to justice. Here’s the synopsis:

Unemployed engineer Stanley Hill (Travolta) witnesses the brutal murder of his wife Vivian (Rebecca De Mornay, TV’s Jessica Jones) who was attacked by thugs in a parking garage. When Detective Gibson (Sam Trammell, True Blood) and other corrupt police officers are unable and unwilling to bring the killers to justice, Stanley turns to his old friend Dennis (Christopher Meloni, Man of Steel, TVs Law & Order) and decides to take matters into his own hands. It is only then that Stanley and Dennis are found to have a mysterious past that, until now, they kept very well hidden.
As they wreak their revenge, those involved in the cover up realize that Stanley and Dennis are more dangerous than they could have ever imagined…

"I Am Wrath" hits VOD on April 15th and opens in theaters on May 13th. [ComingSoon]
