If tonight you leave out some cookies and milk for Santa Claus and secretly wish for a movie that’s a hybrid of "Wedding Crashers" and "Hitch," well I hate to spoil Christmas, but "The Wedding Ringer" will be waiting for you. Yet another trailer has arrived for the Kevin Hart and Josh Gad comedy, and it features lots of new footage, so let’s get to it.
The plot is fairly straightforward: a socially inept man with no friends to call on to be the Best Man at his wedding has to turn to some expert services to help fill those roles. So cue a week of bro-ing out to create fake memories and then — uh oh — real bro feelings probably develop between everyone involved. So it’s a standard mix of wild times, awkward bumbling, all with a decent heart in the middle. At least that’s the goal, and if "The Wedding Ringer" is a decent distraction, that’s probably the best anyone can hope for.
