After many nominations and years of going without, Julianne Moore finally won an Oscar this year for her performance in “Still Alice,” having won Best Actress at Cannes for “Maps To The Stars” just a few months earlier. With “Freeheld” receiving a largely disappointing response, she’s seemingly sitting out this awards season. But if you need a reminder of her astonishing acting prowess, she’s been panhandling in Times Square for the public.
Well, not quite: Moore has joined national treasure Billy Eichner for a segment of his excellent show “Billy On The Street,” in which she competes with the Elmos, Spider-Men and desnudas of Times Square by recreating some of her most famous roles in exchange for spare change, while Eichner, as his wont, screams at the public.
It’s hilarious, but watching Moore turn it on and off, crying on cue and doing Maude Lebowski just as well as she did seventeen years ago, is a reminder of what enormous talent she posesses. Take a look at the clip below, and watch “Billy On The Street” on Thursday at 10.30 on TruTV.
