Watch: Julie Delpy Puts Pressure on Ethan Hawke in New Clip From Richard Linklater's 'Before Midnight'

nullReuniting its leads Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy for a third entry, Richard Linklater‘s “Before Midnight” is by no means a simple cash grab, but a logical, emotional step to its central romance. The film’s couple have navigated their feelings from Vienna, Paris, and now Greece, and a new clip released shows their comfort with one another, but also their tiny annoyances.

We’ve already glimpsed Hawke’s character Jesse sidestep around Delpy’s interest in his attraction toward her character Celine as they’ve aged, and in this latest clip (via Rope of Silicon) we witness the actor wriggle some more as she wonders what he’d change about her. The scene crackles with the excellent chemistry that Delpy and Hawke have shared since “Before Sunrise” nearly two decades prior now, and to the short clip’s credit, you’re sucked back into the duo’s lives immediately.

Luckily, you’ll soon be able to see the entirety of their latest chapter, when “Before Midnight” opens via Sony Pictures Classics on May 24th. And you can read our review of the film from Sundance right here.
