Watch: Karen O Teams With Spike Jonze To Perform "The Moon Song" Together, Will Also Play At The Oscars

Her, Joaquin Phoenix

Oscar voting kicks off on Friday, and Warner Bros. really want that Best Song trophy. With “The Moon Song” EP hitting digital outlets this week, and Karen O playing an Oscar nominees party, the awareness campaign for the song continues.

Today, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman, director Spike Jonze and production designer KK Barrett stopped by KCRW’s famed “Morning Becomes Eclectic” and wouldn’t you know it, the trio performed a rendition of “The Moon Song.” Jonze and Barrett provide the musical accompaniment and backing vocals, while Karen O leads things by singing the tune. And it’s good practice for the performer who will have her biggest audience yet when she gets on stage at the Dolby Theater in a couple of weeks to sing it live during the Oscar ceremonies.

Until then, watch Jonze, Barrett and uh, O, play the song below. [Pitchfork/The Wrap]
