Watch: Keir Gilchrist Gets Hit On In A Psych Ward In 'It's Kind Of A Funny Story'

Ok, last one from MTV’s fall preview, but it’s a look the latest from one of our favorite directing duos, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, with their adaptation of Ned Vizzini’s novel “It’s Kind Of A Funny Story.”

The film centers on Keir Gilchrist as a suicidal teen who checks himself into an adult psychiatric hospital and features a stellar supporting cast including Zach Galifinakis, Emma Roberts, Zoë Kravitz, Jeremy Davies, doctors and psychiatrists Viola Davis and Aasif Mandvi and parents, Lauren Graham and Jim Gaffigan.

In the clip below, Zoë Kravitz has just broken up with her boyfriend and attempts in a not so subtle way to make her intentions known to Keir Gilchrist. If anything, the scene underscores a definite change in direction for Fleck/Boden from their humanist/realist dramas “Sugar” and “Half Nelson.”

We’ve been hearing strong things about the film that has been described as “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” meets “The Breakfast Club.” “It’s Kind Of A Funny Story” opens on October 8th.
