If you have an inspirational sports movie and are in need of a weary, middle aged man in a leading role, just call up Kevin Costner. Whether the game is in a diamond, on a fairway, or in the case of "McFarland, USA," spread out across miles, he’ll be the grumpy but lovable uncle you’ve always wanted in your corner. A new movie trailer for the cross country running movie has arrived.
Directed by "Whale Rider" helmer Niki Caro and costarring Maria Bello, this true story is set in a poor California town where one grizzled high school teacher finds a path for success for the mostly Latino students under his charge through track. His commitment to his students and sport is met with resistance, but we’re sure it’s nothing a triumphant race in resplendent sunshine, perhaps scored to “Juntos (Together)” written specifically for the movie by Latin music superstar Juanes, won’t be able to solve.
"McFarland, USA" opens on February 20th. Watch below.
