At one point, in a much more optimistic past, Kevin Costner‘s William Harper from “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” was being kicked around for his own standalone film. But considering that film was a flop, it’s unlikely to happen. Still, the combination of older dudes kicking ass is one that remains intriguing to studios and audiences (hence “Taken 3“), and next month you’ll have a couple of options. Liam Neeson will throw down in “Non-Stop,” and Costner is going to get things done in “3 Days To Kill.”
And so to remind you it’s coming, a new trailer has arrived to sell the rather absurd premise that allows Costner to kick some vague, European butt. He plays a former special agent, who is dying from a terminal disease, and is trying to do right by his family. But when he’s offered a potentially life saving drug in exchange for taking down some bad dudes, he can’t resist, and feelings and bullets fly all over the place. It’s a weird mashup of sweet sentimentality and Amber Heard camping it up all over the place, plus explosions. Though these days, that’s about what you expect from a Luc Besson production.
