Watch: Kristen Wiig Is A Winner In New Trailer For 'Welcome To Me'

Welcome To MeComing out of "Saturday Night Live" and into the movie world is not an easy path (ask Joe Piscopo, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Norm MacDonald… you get the idea… ) but you have to admire how Kristen Wiig has used the opportunities that have landed in front of her. After the breakout smash "Bridesmaids," she resisted the idea of jumping into a sequel, and instead diversified with lots of indie pictures, hitting Sundance last month with two more ("Nasty Baby," "The Diary Of A Teenage Girl"). Oh sure, she’s not adverse to big studio projects (hello, "Ghostbusters") but arguably, it’s her work in smaller movies that’s far more interesting.

And so today comes another trailer for just one of those movies, "Welcome To Me." Directed by Shira Piven, and co-starring James Marsden, Linda Cardellini, Joan Cusack, Wes Bentley, Tim Robbins, Alan Tudyk, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and more, the story follows thirty-something, television-obsessed recluse Alice Klieg whose life changes when she wins $86 million. And with the money, she launches her own talk show, and even more surprising, it becomes a hit.

We like this one a lot at TIFF noting in our review that Wiig has "never been funnier. Her crass, narcissistic, capricious Alice is her greatest creation." "Welcome To Me" opens on May 1st. Watch below.
