…and the empire keeps growing. Marvel‘s spread has gone from the big screen to network television, and now to one of the most popular streaming platforms at the moment. The superhero studio is launching the first in a batch of new series on Netflix, and today comes the first trailer for "Daredevil."
Charlie Cox has the lead role of Matt Murdock, the blind attorney who cleans up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen. The question is whether or not the open format of the Netflix model — there’s no set episode runtimes, and there’s no need to worry about cursing and violence levels if you don’t want to — will allow Marvel to flex their creative juices a bit. But then again, their template has served them well so far, so perhaps they will stick with what works rather than trying to rock the boat too much.
