Watch: Massive & Detailed 7-Hour Documentary On The Original 'Star Wars' Trilogy

nullSo, you think you know every single thing there is to know about the original "Star Wars" trilogy? Well, certainly, given how well documented those movies have been in the decades since they changed the sci-fi landscape, we’re not surprised by your confidence. But we’re pretty sure you’ll find something new to discover in this massive, seven-hour documentary trilogy covering "Star Wars," "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return Of The Jedi."

Perhaps you’ve seen this already — it’s been kicking around for a while — but if not, better give it a look while you can before the lawyers at Lucasfilm swat it down. Comprising of three fan-made, feature-length efforts — "Star Wars Begins," "Stars Wars: Building Empire" and "Star Wars: Returning To Jedi" — these are unofficial commentaries of sorts, running the length of each respective movie and containing interview segments, clips, alternate footage, bloopers and more to dig way, way deep into all three movies. It’s almost like "Pop Up Video" for the "Star Wars" set, and we’re sure fans will get a kick out of it. (And we can’t imagine how long it took to research and put together).

So give it a spin below — this may make that wait for "Star Wars: Episode 7," coming in 2015, slightly more bearable. [Open Culture]
