Yes, Dior continues to pair great directors and beautiful leading ladies for spots to promote their various fragrances and clothing lines. This year has already seen a spot for Miss Dior Cherie starring Natalie Portman and directed by Sofia Coppola and Charlize Theron taking it off and putting it on in the Jean-Jacques Annaud directed J’Adore Dior ad. But perhaps no helmer has been busier lately for the famed fashion house than John Cameron Mitchell. He’s already directed the short films Lady Grey London and Lady Grey Moscow with Marion Cotillard and now he’s got a new spot with another new face on the label.
Mélanie Laurent is fronting Hynoptic Poison, and Mitchell has directed the first ad in the campaign. Set to Nina Simone‘s excellent version of “I Put A Spell On You,” the typically enigmatic spot features Laurent walking around, mesmerizing some dude and then hanging out with…is that a panther? Anyway, glamorous and mysterious, the spot does the job its supposed to do. Check it out below. [via Luxuo]
