Watch: Memorable, Stunning 3-Minute Creation Sequence From Darren Aronofsky's 'Noah'

Noah

It’s hard to believe “Noah” came out less than two months ago, perhaps because we have since delved deep into the summer blockbuster season, but that is indeed the case. After much anticipation from film fans everywhere, and a strong opening weekend, “Noah” is quietly limping out of theater screens across America as we speak. While it mostly received a lukewarm reception with critics, with audiences even more mixed on it, there’s no denying that Darren Aronofsky’s film had some truly beautiful moments. One such moment can be seen in a clip below.

The three-minute clip is easily one of the highlights of the film. Russell Crowe, as Noah, tells his wife and children the story of how it all began. God, the Creator, gave us this beautiful world and we proceeded to destroy it. Whilst adapting the first few chapters of the Book of Genesis, Darren Aronofsky lets his imagination run wild. The most striking aspect of the sequence is his use of time-lapse photography. In his review of “Noah,” our own Charlie Schmidlin was also smitten by this creation sequence, describing it as “different in approach to ‘Tree of Life‘ but just as stunning.”
