You might have missed it, but earlier today the Berlin Film Festival added even more titles to their already impressive 2014 slate, and in addition to “American Hustle,” “The Two Faces Of January” and “A Long Way Down” (new images from the latter two right here), Diego Luna‘s latest directorial effort “Cesar Chavez” will be screening as well. And a brand new trailer is here to highlight what he’s put together.
Led by the always solid Michael Peña (who we’re stoked to see in a leading role), the film will tell the story of the famed civil rights leader and labor organizer who used his non-violent approach to battle greed and prejudice, all while improving the lives and conditions of farm workers. And though his story is decades old, the material is still quite relevant, particularly in today’s climate where the issue of raising the minimum wage is surfacing once again.
Co-starring America Ferrera, Rosario Dawson, John Malkovich and some guy doing a pretty bad Bobby Kennedy impersonation, “Cesar Chavez” opens on March 28th. Watch below.
