Watch: Naomi Watts & Robin Wright Are Cougars For Each Other's Kids In Trailer For 'Two Mothers'

nullWhen tackling provocative material, there is a fine line between drama and merely being seamy and soapy. And that's the line director Anne Fontaine ("Coco Before Chanel," "The Girl From Monaco") needs to balance in "Two Mothers" which brings together Naomi Watts and Robin Wright for a very unique story.

Based on the novel by Doris Lessing and adapted by Christopher Hampton ("A Dangerous Method," "Atonement") the film centers on two best friends — and moms — whose world gets somewhat turned upside down when they start sleeping with each other's sons. It seems like the kind of problem that could only happen to beautiful people, living in a beautiful place with nothing but time and opportunity on their hands, but this new international trailer does show there is a bit more weight to the premise. Yet, it also just seems kind of salacious just for the sake of it.

Playing Sundance last month, response was muted at best, but you can judge for yourself when it opens in theaters later this summer. [Vlicious!]
