With “The Bling Ring” coming to a theater near you this Friday, we’ve already got a long roster of material for your perusal including a few pics, a clip, our own Cannes review, and the entire flipping soundtrack. We’ve also been gifted with a new featurette. Clocking in under 2 minutes, it’s a very short look at the film and the behind-the-scenes.
Mashing up the trailer, the Paris Hilton clip, and a few brief seconds of interview footage with the key players, the featurette has the same problem as what our Cannes correspondent identified in the film, “it doesn’t bring anything new to a conversation that seems to have run out of things to say.” We’ve seen these clips, we know that “the story’s from the kids’ point of view,” and we already gathered that Emma Watson doesn’t usually wear such revealing clothing.
The featurette doesn’t feature anything new or insightful or exciting, though it does attempt to get you appropriately amped for the movie via the bumpin’ soundtrack. If you don’t remember anything else you’ve already seen, heard or read from the past few weeks on “The Bling Ring,” this is a Spark Notes-style refresher.
