Watch: New Clip, 2 Featurettes & Complete Details On 2-Disc Soundtrack For 'Saving Mr. Banks'

Saving Mr. Banks

An oooey-gooey love letter by Disney to themselves, or an actual movie with real drama and emotion? That’s question surrounding the upcoming “Saving Mr. Banks,” the movie about the journey to get “Mary Poppins” on the big screen. And the good news is: the movie works. Our review out of the BFI London Film Festival notes, the film is “moving, and nicely captures the creative process in a way that some movies-about-movies struggle with.” And now you can check out a whole lot more of what’s in store from the film.

A brand new clip and two featurettes have landed for the movie. In the sequence from the film, we see the big hearted Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) meeting prickly ‘Poppins’ author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson) for the first time. It’s awkward. Then the two EPKs for the flick delve into its approach of the story and character of Travers. Lastly, the full details of the 2-disc spanning soundtrack has arrived. It features the score by Thomas Newman, renditions of songs from “Mary Poppins” by the cast, along with versions from the original movie by Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke. And for total Disney nerds, demo versions of the “Mary Poppins” songs by Richard and Robert Sherman will be in there too.

The soundtrack hits on December 10th with the movie opening in limited release on December 13th and going wide on December 20th. [THR/Stitch Kingdom]
