There’s a reason we highlighted David Lowery‘s “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” as one of the 13 Films You Should See In August—it’s simply one of the best movies not only of this month, but of the entire year. The picture, which we’ve been raving about since Sundance, is a gorgeous, slow burn story of romance and fading legends. It’s a Texas tale with an emotional heart as wide as the sun-kissed horizon, and it’s definitely one you’ll want to experience on a big screen. And with a couple weeks to go before its release, it looks like we’re getting a few more peeks at the flick.
A new clip for ‘Saints’ has arrived and don’t worry, there are no spoilers here. Taken from a moment in the opening stages of the flick, we see the young outlaws, played by Rooney Mara and Casey Affleck, in a scene that serves to solidify the bond between the pair that will soon be broken. It’s a lovely sequence and like the rest of flick, a visually arresting moment as well. And after you watch the clip, you can check out a recent appearance by Affleck on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” where he explains just where that poetic movie title came from.
“Ain’t Them Bodies Saints” opens on August 16th in limited release. Watch below.
