While he’s already hard at work shooting on the Forest Whitaker-led ensemble drama “The Butler” (which just got picked up by The Weinstein Company), Lee Daniels’ latest film “The Paperboy,” which had a less-than enthusiastic response at Cannes earlier this year, is headed to theaters and Millenium Entertainment have released a new clip from the film.
Set in 1969, the film centers on a journalist (Matthew McConaughey) who investigates a wrongful conviction of death row inmate (John Cusack), accused of killing a Florida sheriff. The clip itself concern’s Zac Efron as McConaughey’s kid brother, sitting in a parking lot outside of a prison with Nicole Kidman, who plays the inmate's love interest of sorts. The sequence with is a rather dodgy affair, especially with tenous grasp on Southern accents going on here. But in case you're wondering, yes, that is Macy Gray narrating.
