It’s still about two weeks from Marvel‘s "Guardians Of The Galaxy" opening all over the planet, and the studio really, really wants this one to be a big success. They’ve already had a special, one night only IMAX preview earlier this month, unveiling seventeen minutes worth of footage. But if you couldn’t make it or want to see more, six minutes from the movie are now online to show off James Gunn‘s irreverent outer space superhero flick.
Indeed, ‘Guardians’ drops the more serious tone of other Marvel efforts for something a bit more self aware, and even parodying of the typical hero arc, with Chris Pratt‘s Peter Quill probably more deadly with a quip than with a weapon in his hand. And these two clips do a good job at really emphasizing the spirit of Gunn’s ‘Guardians,’ which looks like it might go down as the funniest Marvel movie to date, or at least the one that comes closest to being a straight out action comedy.
Check it out below with a couple of TV spots too, and see you on August 1st when it opens.
