Watch: New International Trailer For 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' Serves Up More Bourne-Esque Footage

null

So… when did Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan become Jason Bourne? Maybe we missed the meeting or memo, but from what we remember of past movies featuring the character, he wasn’t quite doing his job this way. We suppose that’s what reboots are for. Bringing new characters into contemporary times, though in this case it seems that process has made things a bit more generic.

Anyway, a new international trailer for “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit” has dropped and it serves up enough new footage to make it worth a spin. Chris Pine takes the lead, playing an analyst turned ass-kicking international terrorism-stopper-guy, who has to face off against Russian-accent-wearing Kenneth Branagh, while Keira Knightley seems unfortunately saddled with the KateCapshaw-in-Temple-Of-Doom role. The story is about some kind of global plot to blow things up or something—again, nothing you haven’t seen in a few movies already.

“Jack Ryan: The Supremacy Shadow Ghost Protocol Into Darkness Recruit” opens on Christmas Day.
