Watch: New 'John Carter' Trailer Bleeds Blue

nullSo, "Waterworld" folly of epic proportions or does everyone just want to see an expensive movie bomb? While "John Carter" is the biggest role of the dice so far in 2012 (at least until "Battleship" shows up), it has been benefitting from new buzz (mostly from the geek set) which the chorus ringing out that it's not horrible. Okay, not exactly the heartiest of endorsements but Disney will probably take what it can get at this point.

A new trailer has dropped for the film which still does a good job at not giving the barest hint of plot, avoiding any reference to the period portions of the film and being as generic as possible. For all the promotional push this movie has been receiving it still looks like a mashup of "Avatar," "Pocahontas," "Star Wars,""Braveheart" and "Gladiator" and no, that's not a good thing. But from what we can discern John Carter is in Mars to lead a rebellion against Mark Strong for reasons that are unclear. But it will end up to with two blobs of CGI creatures running at each other and fighting with hand combat weapons even though there are spaceships. Hopefully, that will be explained. As for that blue blood, we presume that's a way to prevent getting an R-rating.

But we'll soon see what all this amounts to when "John Carter" opens on March 9th. Watch below.
