Bobcat Goldthwait is no stranger to prestigious festivals. His 2006 film “Stay” played Sundance and TIFF (among others), while “God Bless America” hit TIFF and SXSW (and more), while even “World’s Greatest Dad” stopped in Deauville and Stockholm among other places. As for “Willow Creek“? Well, it hit Fantasia in Montreal, smaller fests in Toronto, Vancouver and some other places. A step down for the filmmaker? Well, a new trailer is here so you can judge for yourself.
Led by Alexie Gilmore and Bryce Johnson, Goldthwait’s latest is a found footage exercise, following a young couple — one of whom is a Bigfoot believer — who head into Six Rivers National Forest in Northern California, to try and capture the creature on camera. Of course, things don’t go as planned and there is lots of shaky cam and reacting to things off camera. Haven’t we been here before? Hopefully there’s a bit more to this than meets the eye.
“Willow Creek” arrives on On Demand in theatres on June 6th. Watch below. [EW]
