Whether animated ("The Incredibles") or live-action ("Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol"), Brad Bird knows a thing or two about creating a spectacle and making it feel personal all at the same time. While one could argue that the Tom Cruise franchise tilted more toward the blockbuster, Bird looks to have found the perfect mix of scale and intimacy with his upcoming "Tomorrowland." And today a new trailer for the movie has arrived.
The rather eclectic ensemble of George Clooney, Hugh Laurie, Britt Robertson, Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson feature in the Damon Lindelof penned movie, about which many details are still under wraps. But this trailer opens up a few more doors to the sci-fi/fantasy Disney picture. Here’s the official synopsis:
From Disney comes two-time Oscar® winner Brad Bird’s riveting, mystery adventure “Tomorrowland,” starring Academy Award® winner George Clooney. Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank (Clooney), jaded by disillusionment, and Casey (Britt Robertson), a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world — and them — forever.
Featuring a screenplay by “Lost” writer and co-creator Damon Lindelof and Brad Bird, from a story by Lindelof & Bird & Jeff Jensen, “Tomorrowland” promises to take audiences on a thrill ride of nonstop adventures through new dimensions that have only been dreamed of.
We’re certainly ready to see what Bird and Lindelof have concocted. "Tomorrowland" arrives on May 22nd. Watch the new trailer below.
