As you’re now slowly releasing the grip from your chair from last night’s episode of “Breaking Bad,” you better ready to hang on to something else as Paul Greengrass‘ thriller “Captain Phillips” is on the way. And another brand new trailer is here more than adequately selling the heart-stopping ride audiences will be going on.
You know the basics by now: based on a true story, Tom Hanks plays the titular character, who has to defend his boat against a rogue band of Somali pirates. It’s that simple premise that let’s Greengrass do what he’s best at, and the results are nothing short of impressive. As we wrote in our review from the New York Film Festival, “it’s a breathlessly told movie; both meticulous and frenetic, sweat-soaked and methodical. It will take hold and won’t let you go.” And with praise also dosed out to the supporting cast (including newcomer Barkhad Abdi) and composer John Powell, this movie works from top to bottom with everything coming together like a well-oiled machine.
“Captain Phillips” hits the water on October 11th. Watch below.
