Watch: New Trailer For 'The Grandmaster' Scored To Song From 'Man With The Iron Fists' For Some Reason

They tried bringing Wong Kar-wai to Comic-Con, and they even issued a comic book based on the movie, but it seems The Weinstein Company can’t whip up enough excitement for Wong Kar-wai’s “The Grandmaster.” So now, they’re just hoping RZA can do the heavy lifting because everyone likes hip hop and he’s a big martial arts fan… or something…

A new trailer has arrived for the movie, and while it claims to be featuring a new song by RZA (and maybe it’s a very slightly different remix), it’s “Rivers Of Blood” from his “The Man With The Iron Fists” movie. They’re both martial arts flicks, so pretty much the same, right? Well, actually, where RZA’s movie is done in an over-the-top style to pay homage to the Saturday morning flicks he watched as a youth, WKW’s movie is a much more evocative, mood heavy affair (as you might expect). But we suppose this new beats ‘n rhymes spot could possibly trick enough people into thinking their getting a straight up punch fest. (Though considering RZA’s movie flopped, we’re not sure they Harvey decided to try and replicate marketing that didn’t work with this movie).

Anyway, take a look at the trailer below along with a new poster (via IGN). “The Grandmaster” opens in limited release on August 23rd and goes wide on August 30th.
