"Jurassic World" arrives on home video in a few short weeks, enabling nitpicking superfans to continue to complain about the mega-smash hit movie that, in my opinion, was one of the best blockbusters of the year (so far), coming in second behind "Mad Max: Fury Road." Colin Trevorrow updated the "Jurassic Park" franchise for a new era, but also kept the same spirit of the series, while putting his own mark on the material. It’s not an easy feat, especially for someone leaping from indie moviemaking to a major tentpole. At any rate, I’m digressing a bit, because what we’re here to talk about are a batch of deleted scenes that have landed online.

As is usually the case with this kind of stuff, these sequences were cut for good reason, and don’t add much to main feature. Perhaps the most "notable" scene that was cut is one where Chris Pratt‘s Owen gets pretty grim, calling humans an "overrated species," and then instructs Bryce Dallas Howard‘s Claire to smear dinosaur poop all over to mask the smell of her vanilla lotion. To say it’s a misjudged moment is an understatement. Good thing Trevorrow knew well enough to leave it on the cutting room floor.
"Jurassic World" arrives on the format of your choice on October 20th. Watch the scenes below. [Flickering Myth]
