Watch: Peter Jackson Talks 'The World's End' With Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost; 3 New Clips & Comic-Con Poster

nullIn a summer of bland blockbuster flops and lukewarm indies, we’ve been pining for the refreshing third taste of the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy, “The World’s End.” Although there’s still over a month until the film hits stateside, there have been almost enough released tidbits to tide us over until its U.S. release on August 23rd. Within the past few weeks, we’ve seen a trailer or twocharacter posterspics, clips, and even a tracklisting for the film’s soundtrack. Happily, we’ve got a few more treats to share with you.

In anticipation of tomorrow’s Comic-Con panel, “The World’s End” co-writer and actor Simon Pegg tweeted a fun video (see below) in which Peter Jackson talks with Pegg, director Edgar Wright, and co-star Nick FrostOn top of that, we’ve also got three new clips featuring a few familiar faces and some ominous tones, with hints of Shakespeare and “Boys from Brazil,” 6 photo stills, and a Comic-Con exclusive poster created by illustrator Tommy Lee Edwards.

After the film’s Wellington premiere, the Cornetto gang sat down for an interview with Peter Jackson and discussed “The World’s End” for twenty-odd minutes. Jackson, who had a fun cameo in “Hot Fuzz” as a not-so-nice Father Christmas (or Santa for we Yanks), was a big fan of the film and can now be added to the massive pile of positive reviews coming in, telling the gang, “An absolutely amazing film, guys, absolutely fantastic. I mean I loved it. It was just so refreshing to go to the movies and actually just kind of be entertained, 100% entertained, from the beginning to the end, you know. It was just fantastic. That personally doesn’t happen for me much in the movies anymore, and it was just great. It’s like what movies should be.” With that big vote of confidence from one of the most epic filmmakers of our time and a cast including Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and Scotty (Pegg), our nerdy senses are tingling.

Check out the whole interview down below along with the three new clips, 6 photo stills, and Comic-Con poster. “The World’s End” will be released on July 19th in the U.K. and August 23rd in the U.S. [Bloody-Disgusting/THR]
