Watch: Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear & Jennifer Connelly In Trailer For 'Salvation Boulevard'

The next few months might be dominated by summer blockbusters, but we’re also starting to get the festival hits from the last six months: acclaimed indies from Toronto, Sundance and SXSW, films like “Submarine,” “Beginners,” “The Trip” and “Page One,” all land in the next while and a trailer has just debuted for one of the starrier offerings from Park City this year.

Yahoo has the trailer for “Salvation Boulevard,” a religious satire with the extremely impressive line-up of Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear, Jennifer Connelly, Marisa Tomei, Ed Harris, Ciaran Hinds and Jim Gaffigan, which IFC will release later in the summer. The film, from George Ratliff, the director of the Sam Rockwell/Vera Farmiga killer child flick “Joshua,” follows Carl (Kinnear), a former Deadhead now under the spell of a charismatic religious leader, Pastor Dan Day (Brosnan). But when the leader’s rival, Dr. Paul Blaylock (Harris) is shot, Carl is blamed, and is forced to go on the run.

The clip isn’t without its pleasures: it’s nice to see Connelly play a little more unhinged for once, the always-great Ciaran Hinds gets a killer line reading, and the sight of Brosnan being hit in the face with a coffee cup certainly raises a smirk. But it all looks a little tired, and seems to back up the view of the somewhat lukewarm reviews out of Sundance earlier in the year. IFC will put the film out on July 15th, so we’ll find out closer to the time if there’s anything worth seeing here. Watch the trailer below, or in HD over at Yahoo.
