So, how big is Marvel at the moment? Well, you’ll be telling your grandkids that comic book movies were once so big that ABC dedicated an hour of primetime programming to the comic titan. And indeed, last night ABC squared away 60 minutes for "Marvel: 75 Years, From Pulp to Pop!"
Hosted by Emily VanCamp (aka Agent 13 from "Captain America: The Winter Soldier") this is an EPK-ish overview of Marvel’s movie history and comic history, and probably doesn’t have much intel that diehard fans don’t already know. But for those still getting their feet wet in the Marvel-verse, it’s a decent primer. But most significantly, perhaps, Marvel, never one to miss a cross-promotional opportunity, also unveiled a generous clip from the upcoming series "Agent Carter." Dominic Cooper (aka Howard Stark) drops by in this scene with Hayley Atwell, which is mostly remarkable for how soundstage-y and cheap it looks. Here’s hoping this has some decent budgets.
You can watch the full Marvel special at ABC (we’ll add an embed when one becomes available), the "Agent Carter" clip and an excerpt from the Marvel special that showcases footage from "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Ant-Man" and other upcoming Marvel films below.
