"The End Of The World" is coming, and no, we're not talking about the Mayan nonsense that has tinfoil hat types stocking up on batteries and water. We're talking about Seth Rogen's directorial debut (he shares the chair with longtime writing collaborator Evan Goldberg, and yes, they both penned the script), the apocalypse comedy that's now called "This Is The End." And the first red band spot is here.
Rogen and Goldberg called in favors from familiar pals James Franco, Jonah Hill, Jay Baruchel, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Michael Cera and Emma Watson to take roles in the movie which takes place as the clock is ticking down to the end of everything. So, like "Melancholia" but much more hilarious (Udo Kier aside). And there's likely more surprises too, with Rihanna already confirmed for a cameo. So will it succed where other end-of-the-world comedies have failed? (We're looking at you "Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World"). Providing everything doesn't end tomorrow, we'll find out on June 14, 2013. Official synopsis and trailer below.
The comedy This Is The End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
