The Beastie Boys have a new album coming out which means their star-studded short film, “Fight For Your Right Revisited,” will now be readied for public consumption following its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival last month.
Boasting a stupidly huge cast including Elijah Wood, Danny McBride, Seth Rogen, Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Jack Black, Susan Sarandon, Jason Schwartzman, Will Arnett, Danny McBride, Stanley Tucci, Chloe Sevigny and a shit ton more, the film appears to be some kind of battle between future and present versions of the Beastie Boys. But you know what? For all the talent assembled here we didn’t laugh once and it seems to trade on some uninspired jokes like giving Will Ferrell a cowbell (snore) and making Will Arnett say “Come on!” as he basically plays Gob Bluth. Maybe the full 22 minutes will be better? We hope so.
The new album, “Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2” will street on May 3rd along with the full short. Check out the trailer below. You might need to turn down those office speakers because of all the cussin’. [via Pitchfork]
