Call it a different kind of crate digging. With Beastie Boys calling it a day following the death of Adam Yauch (aka MCA, RIP), you might think there’s not too many goodies left in the archives for the legendary hip hop group to share with fans. But you’d be mistaken. You can thank Irish studio Eoin McLernon for clicking around the internet and finding this unreleased video for "Too Many Rappers" ft. Nas. And for fans, it’s definitely worth a watch.
From the band’s final album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, the Roman Coppola-directed spot is a pretty lo-fi affair, filming the rappers in a variety of locations, and cutting together the footage into something that definitely captures the classic flavor of both the Beasties and Nas. It’s definitely in the spirit of the Beastie Boys, even if not on the same level of spectacle as some of their latter-era videos. Anyway, get a daily dose of nostalgia and watch below.
