Before he dives into his "Predator" sequel, writer/director Shane Black is going back to the kind of R-rated, meat-and-potatoes action comedy turf he made his career on with fare like "Lethal Weapon," "The Last Boy Scout," and "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang." And he couldn’t ask for two better leads to help him bring his latest, "The Nice Guys," to life.
Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe star in the ’70s-set movie about a mismatched pair of dudes, whose search for a missing girl takes them on a wild adventure into Los Angeles’ seedy underbelly. Here’s the official synopsis:
“The Nice Guys” takes place in 1970s Los Angeles, when down-on-his-luck private eye Holland March (Gosling) and hired enforcer Jackson Healy (Crowe) must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star. During their investigation, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches up to the highest circles of power.
Co-starring Matt Bomer, Kim Basinger, Margaret Qualley, and more, "The Nice Guys" opens on May 20th.
