Watch: Shia LaBeouf-Directed Video For Future Unlimited's 'Haunted Love'

Shia LaBeoufAt the very least, it’s hard not to admire Shia LaBeouf’s attempts to stretch himself artistically. Whether it’s appearing naked in a Sigur Ros music video or starring in Lars von Trier’s upcoming film, “Nymphomaniac,” it seems like LaBeouf is doing everything he can to distance himself from his Disney/Transformers past. Most recently, he’s been showing off some of his skills behind the camera, directing the new music video for the Nashville duo, Future Unlimited.

The video, “Haunted Love,” premiered on Rolling Stone yesterday and it stars Future Unlimited frontman Dave Miller and Mia Goth (LaBeouf’s girlfriend). What follows is a pretty disturbing display of images including bloody sheets, a chopped-up limb, and a baby crying inside a lit-up fireplace. While it teeters on the verge of overkill at times, the end result is actually pretty impressive. It has a strong visual aesthetic and the production design is very sleek, but… it can get pretty fucking weird. Still, given the state of music videos these days, it’s definitely worth a watch.
