As this weekend at the box office proved, sequels aren’t necessarily a guaranteed success. Both "Sinister 2" and "Hitman: Agent 47" flopped, and so it’ll be interesting to see if audiences actually care to see the further adventures of "The Maze Runner" in "Maze Runner: Scorch Trials." Certainly, 20th Century Fox could use a hit following the embarrassing failures this month of both "Fantastic Four" and ‘Hitman’ so they are hoping to put asses in the seats for this next installment of the YA adventure.

Dylan O’Brien is back again as the lead in this Dystopian-flick, and since I haven’t seen the first one, I’m not sure if they are still running from the maze or whatever. So in lieu of my commentary, here’s the official synopsis:
In this next chapter of the epic “Maze Runner” saga, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) and his fellow Gladers face their greatest challenge yet: searching for clues about the mysterious and powerful organization known as WCKD. Their journey takes them to the Scorch, a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles. Teaming up with resistance fighters, the Gladers take on WCKD’s vastly superior forces and uncover its shocking plans for them all.
"Maze Runner: Scorch Trials" opens on September 18th. Watch the first clip below along with a couple of TV spots.
