Watch: 'Spring Breakers' Featurette Plus New Poster & Cahiers Du Cinema Cover

nullYou can trust us on this one, folks; Harmony Korine’s “Spring Breakers” is going to comfortably be the highest grossing film of the director’s career to date. In fact, if we had to go out on a limb, we’d say that he’s unlikely to ever match it. The film will go into limited release on March 15th a week before it goes wide, it's secured distribution in most major European and Antipodean territories over the next few months, and it’s not exactly the hardest product to market. Images from the film stick out like a sore, fluorescent thumb whenever they’re posted online, and any film that heavily features a headline-attracting pop starlet and the former star of a massively successful Disney franchise clad in skimpy bikinis is going to have a sizable built-in audience.

Credit then to the film’s marketing bods who have produced a pretty awesome (and eye-catching) poster for the movie, with nary a nubile young beach-ready body in sight. If you enjoy the movie, this is the poster (via IMP Awards) you’re going to want hanging on your wall afterwards. As well as looking pretty cool it does a great job of selling the various aspects of the movie (sex ‘n’ drugs ‘n’ armed robbery?) without a bikini or a star name. Meanwhile, the high falutin' film mag Cahiers Du Cinema has gone in the other direction, giving their brow furrowing readers plenty of skin and neon on the cover of their March issue.

For those that want a little more than just a cool poster and magazine cover, we’ve also got a new, short, behind-the-scenes featurette. It runs just over 90 seconds long and gives us a few more brief glimpses at the movie and the process that went into making it. There's unsurprisingly not a lot of depth, but we get to see Harmony Korine, James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens, Rachel Korine, Selena Gomez and Ashley Benson hard at work, so it should serve anyone well who’s looking to binge on as much from the film as possible before its release in a few weeks time.
