Watch: Star-Lord Meets Korath The Pursuer In Clip From 'Guardians Of The Galaxy'; Nathan Fillion Teases Cameo

Guardians Of The Galaxy

While “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” obliterated April box office records and opened huge, it was a sequel to an already successful franchise featuring characters from the billion dollar “The Avengers.” When it comes to “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” the benchmark Marvel will likely be aiming for is the $65 million “Thor” snared on its opening weekend. If it can do that, than the gamble on this one will likely have paid off. But until then, marketing will be key to driving people to the multiplex.

And so today comes what is essentially a TV spot, though it opens with Chris Pratt‘s Star-Lord meeting Korath The Pursuer, in an extended clip from that scene in the trailer. Excitement! If anything it sets up the tone of James Gunn‘s movie, which seems like it will forever be winking at itself and how bonkers it all is. Which is fine, but at some point you have to acknowledge what you are and get on with it too.

Meanwhile, we might as start talking about the mid/post credits scene, and it seems that the cat is start to get out of the bag. At the St. Louis Comic Con, Nathan Fillion—who featured in Gunn’s “Slither” and “Super“—teased the following when talk turned towards ‘Guardians’ and a possible role. “Wanting to get a part… or maybe did, I’m just saying maybe. Maybe you’ll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits,” he said. Which is what Marvel heads do anyway.
