Watch: Teaser For Indiegogo-Funded ‘Little Favour’ Starring Benedict Cumberbatch

As Benedict Cumberbatch’s career continues to soar, with 2013 being his biggest year yet, it’s nice to see the English actor taking some time away from studio fare to get involved with smaller projects. This one is, perhaps, as small as it gets. And if this teaser trailer is any indication, it involves Benedict getting the beating of his life.

First-time director Patrick Victor Monroe wrote this short thriller “Little Favour,” which also stars Nick Moran (“Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,” “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels”). The short film follows Cumberbatch’s character, Wallace, an Iraq War veteran who’s contacted by a former colleague to help him out on a deal gone wrong. And if trailer is any indication, it looks as if things have gone very wrong indeed.

Patrick Victor Monroe went to Indiegogo, back in May to get this film funded and wound up getting over three times his asking price (which was £25,000). Surely, the ability for the project to get funded is mostly a testament to Benedict Cumberbatch’s growing popularity. Nevertheless, this looks like it could be an interesting little film and considering Cumberbatch took no fee for starring, he believes in it as well. Be sure to check out the teaser below and the actor’s message to fans. [BBC America]
