What better way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese revolution than with a big budget blockbuster epic? So, here comes “1911” starring Jackie Chan. Wait, what?
Yep, everyone’s favorite martial arts dude is getting old so he can’t take the hits like he once used to, so these days he’s trying to become an “actor.” The idea of Chan emoting is about as appealing as Steven Seagal making a movie about Christopher Columbus…actually that would amazing. Anyway, the film also finds the aging fighter behind the camera with the vague credit of “General Director.” We have no idea what that means, we just hope the craft services table wasn’t “generally catered.” Zhang Li gets credited as the director proper and we suppose we’ll have to wait until press rounds to figure out who did what.
Anyway, Bleeding Cool has dug up the trailer which you see below in all its sweeping glory. It hits theaters on the other side of the world later this year.
